Gavin Yamey is a professor of global health and public policy at Duke University, where he directs the Center for Policy Impact in Global Health, an innovative policy lab that addresses critical challenges in financing and delivering global health. With his training as a physician, journalist, editor, and public health researcher, he works to help shape global health policies that are informed by evidence and that target the world’s poor and marginalized. He has served on three Lancet commissions—on investing in health, TB, and global surgery—and has been an adviser to the WHO and TDR, the Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases. Gavin has published extensively on global health, neglected diseases, health policy, and disparities in health and has been a frequent commentator on National Public Radio.
