Andy Carvin

Author of Distant Witness

Andy Carvin served as senior social media strategist for NPR and has often been described as the media revolutionary whose work not only told the world what was happening in closed societies, but brought thousands into the streets to protest for democracy. In his most recent book, Distant Witness, Andy offers a unique, first-person recap of the Arab Spring. He was the founding editor and former coordinator of the Digital Divide Network. He is also an active blogger and field correspondent for the vlog Rocketboom. Andy now works with First Look Media and is a fellow at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
